How water can damage your phone

Water is an enemy of any electronic device and it is no different for mobile phones. There are a number of ways that water can find its way into your phone and the most common and most damaging is accidentally dropping it in the bath, sink or even worse the toilet. It is one of the reasons it is always worth getting your phone a cover and taking out accidental damage cover from the Vodafone Cavan company such as King Communications that you bought the phone from.

There are a number of different ways that water can damage your phone and these can include:

  • Fried circuit board – water flows through a mobile phone and amplifies the current that is present in the phone. This can lead to a surge of energy overloading the circuit board and leading it to burn out.

  • Corrosion -water and metal do not mix well and neither do electrical circuits. Corrosion occurs over a period of time as water is left to mix with important areas of the phone such as the coils, circuits and resistors. This is one of the reasons why it is important to dry out a wet phone as soon as possible.
  • Depending on the type of water your phone can be mildly or severely affected. Water from your tap or a nearby puddle is not going to do as much damage as sea water that has a high concentration of salt.
